Although not Civil War related, my new pictorial history book of the Johnson City, N.Y. Fire Department (I retired from there three years ago after 31 years of service) was recently released. As many of the photographs that appear in the book are turn of the century, I am quite sure that some of the men pictured, may have served during the Civil War. I have the names of some of those men pictured and will be doing some research to see if any of them show up in Civil War records. The book is available for purchase locally at such places as the Barnes and Noble bookstore in Vestal, Wegman's, Walgreens, and Giant Markets. It is also available through various on-line book retailers such as Arcadia Publishing, Amazon.com, and Barnes and Noble.
